ENTRANCE LOBBY

DESIGN FOR LOBBY SPACE WAS ANALYZED AS THE FIRST USER EXPERINCE IN THE WHOLE RENOVATED BUILTFORM.

THEREFORE IT BECAME ESSENTIAL TO VISUALLY MERGE THE EXISITNG AND NEW DESIGN.

IN ORDER TO ACHIVE THIS A CONVENTIONAL WOOD MATERIAL WAS CHOSEN BUT A MODERN CEILING FORM WAS DEVELOPED TO BRING THE EXCITEMETNT IN THE NEW SPACE.

STUDENT READING CORNER

READING ROOMS ARE THE SPINE SPACES IN A LIBRARY. TO STRENGTHEN THE SPIRIT OF THESE ROOMS, INFORMAL READING SPOTS ARE DESIGNED.

INSPIRED FROM THE STEPWELLS OF INDIA, THESE STEPS ACT AS THE CATALYST TO ATTRACT STUDENTS TO THE MEGA READING HALL.

ALONG WITH THE ELEVATOR THESE STEPS CONNECT THE TWO FLOORS OF READING ROOM, HENCE MAKING THE CIRCULATION MORE FLUID.

SKYLIGHTS AND WINDOW GLAZING BRINGS IN NATURAL DIFFUSED LIGHT TO THE ROOM. HELPING THE LIBRARY TO BE SUSTAINABLE AND AT THE SAME TIME KEEPING STUDENTS CLOSE TO NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

COURTYARD

WE UNDERSTAND OUTDOOR LEARNING EXPERINCES ARE ALSO EQUALLY IMPORTANT FOR THE STUDENTS. THEREFORE READING ROOM II IS BEING OPENED BOTH VISUALLY AND PHYSICALLY TO THE COURTYARD.

HEIGHT TO DEPTH RATIO OF COURTYARD HELPS US TO CUT OF HARSH SUMMER SUN BUT ALLOWS DIFFUSED WINTER SUNLIGHT. ADDITIONALLY GREEN PERGOLAS AND FOUNTAINS ARE ADDED KEEPING IN MIND THE MICRO CLIMATE OF THE SITE.

SEATING AREAS ARE DESIGNED TO BE MORE INFORMAL ENCOURAGING CANDID INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THE USER GROUPS.
