DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYEMENT SERVICES,

Washington, DC

The DOES building is a 225,000 SF, 5-story, LEED (gold) office building. The façade has a limestone base, the upper body is a combination of precast, and clear adonized alu-minum windows with clear low*e glass. The DOES building is set back from the existing street in order to allow for a 12-foot wide sidewalk and future roadway improvements,
including a dedicated parking lane and center turn lane on Minnesota Avenue. These improvements enhanced the pedestrian environment, making parking convenient for storefront retail, and accommodating the additional vehicular traffic that is generated by the Government Center. Approximately 400 agency personnel are located in the
DOES building.ment to excellence in design and energy efficiency.
